Stimulant rehab
There are many different types of stimulants including prescription medicines like Ritalin and Adderall and illegal drugs like cocaine and ecstasy. No matter their legal status, all stimulants can be potentially addictive and once they have taken hold, it can be incredibly difficult to break free from. However, there is effective help available through stimulant rehab. At Primrose Lodge, we provide an effective, proven stimulant recovery treatment which can help you overcome your condition and start living a life free from stimulant use.
What is stimulants rehab?
Stimulant rehab is a type of treatment specifically designed to help those struggling with stimulant addiction. Stimulant rehab is designed to help you understand the root causes of your condition and provide you with the tools and skills you need to overcome these drugs.
Stimulant rehab is usually undergone at an inpatient stimulants rehab centre. This provides an immersive recovery environment where you can take time out from your busy life to focus on your recovery. This can be difficult to do when you are trying to manage work, family, and other commitments.
You can also undergo stimulant rehab through outpatient stimulants rehab but this is not always as effective because you will still be exposed to the same triggers and temptations that led to your condition in the first place. Inpatient stimulant rehab provides you with a more controlled environment where you can focus on your recovery without these distractions.
Which types of stimulants can be treated in rehab?
At Primrose Lodge, we provide treatment for all the most common illegal stimulants as well as some prescription stimulant medications. There are thousands of people in the UK who develop dependencies on prescription stimulants and other legal medications every year with the issue becoming so bad that in 2021, the government launched a review to find out why the prescription of these medications had increased by 3% since 2016.
At Primrose lodge, many of the prescription stimulant dependencies we treat are from medicines used to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). These include:
Do I need stimulant rehab?
If you are asking yourself this question, it is likely that you already know the answer. However, there are certain signs and symptoms that can help you to identify whether stimulant rehab is right for you.

- Taking stimulants in larger doses or more often than prescribed
- Experiencing withdrawal symptoms when you try to stop taking stimulants
- Friends and family members expressing concern about your stimulant use
- Failing to meet work, school or family obligations because of your stimulant use
- Lying to loved ones about taking stimulants
- Experiencing legal problems because of your stimulant use
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, it is important to seek help as soon as possible. At Primrose Lodge, we can provide the stimulant rehab you need for a fresh start in life, completely free of stimulants and their negative impacts on your life.
Stimulant rehab at Primrose Lodge
When you come to Primrose Lodge for stimulant rehab, you can be sure that you will receive the best possible care from our team of experts. After undergoing stimulant detox to break your physical dependence on the drug, you will then move on to stimulant recovery therapy.
We offer a range of different therapies as part of our comprehensive 12-step stimulant rehab programmes. These include:
One-to-one therapy…
This weekly session provides you with a chance to talk through your experiences and feelings in a safe and confidential environment. Our one-to-one therapy sessions are with a therapist who has been through recovery themselves and so they know exactly what you are going through.
Group therapy…
Our group therapy sessions provide an opportunity to share your experiences with other people in a similar situation and to learn from their stories. Group therapy is also a great way to build a support network during your time in stimulants rehab and for when you leave treatment.
Family therapy…
Loved ones can suffer greatly when someone they care about is addicted to stimulants. Family therapy sessions provide a chance for you to repair these relationships and start rebuilding trust. It can also be a valuable way for your family to learn more about your condition and how they can support your recovery.
Additional treatment approaches…
We also offer a range of additional stimulant rehab approaches at Primrose Lodge. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), meditation, gong bath therapy, auricular acupuncture and yoga therapy.
These different treatment approaches are all designed to work together to provide you with the best possible chance of recovery. They can help you cope with stressful moments when you leave stimulants rehab and teach you the skills you need to stay clean and sober for the long term.
Once you have finished stimulant recovery treatment and left rehab, you will then begin your aftercare programme. This involves further weekly group therapy sessions (currently every Thursday from 5:15 pm to 6:45 pm via Zoom). You will also be invited to join our Alumni Network which provides ongoing support and friendship for those in recovery.
