The initial stages

Telephone assessment

We will ask you to provide a short history of the issue you wish to address, any medical information that may be relevant and other information that will enable us to provide the right programme for you.

Booking your place

Once you’ve decided on your treatment length and room, we can reserve your place at Primrose Lodge.

Deposit

We’ll take a deposit to secure your stay, with the balance payable on arrival day.

The first few days at Primrose Lodge

Settling into rehab

Upon arrival at our clinic, a member of our admissions team will be there to greet you. They can offer you reassurance and answer any questions you may have relating to your stay before giving you a short tour around the centre, so you know where to find everything you need. We realise that clients come to us in a crisis and sometimes arrive confused and intoxicated. You’ll get time to settle in and adjust to your new surroundings, so you feel relaxed and not overwhelmed when you first arrive.

A short medical assessment

At some point on the first day, you will meet with our in-house doctor, who will go through a thorough medical assessment. This ensures that you receive the proper level of care throughout your stay. For example, if you’re being treated for substance addiction, you may need to take a medical detox. The doctor will decide if this is appropriate. If so, they’ll prescribe you the correct medication, which will be constantly monitored and supported by our medical and clinical staff throughout your entire duration.

Your bespoke recovery plan

During your first few days of treatment at Primrose Lodge, you will meet and work with our counsellors and therapists. They will help you to identify the underlying causes of your addiction. From there, your focal therapist will devise a complete and comprehensive bespoke treatment plan. Your input into your treatment is valuable, so you will approve all goals to make sure we are working together towards your recovery.

Your individualised treatment plan will encompass several powerful and proven, effective addiction treatments, ensuring you receive the best and most comprehensive treatment care. From our experience, clients usually feel nervous during the first few days, especially when meeting with others. Our advice to you is to get stuck in with treatment; it’s normal to feel vulnerable but know that you are in a safe space.

If you are undergoing a medical detox with us, you will likely feel foggy and unfocused whilst the substance leaves your system. However, you will still benefit from some light therapy and high levels of support delivered by our counsellors and therapists. Once your detox has been completed and you can think more clearly, we can concentrate on your entire mental, emotional, and spiritual rehabilitation.
